Found out something new about being a Professional Photographer
I was at a small Wedding today down in Maidenhead and then Ascot. It occurred to me that if you OK with yourself, tough on the outside but with a sensitive center, don’t want any fame, adulation, gratitude or even acknowledgement…then this is the perfect job for you. It was nice today because the entire family was a mix of Russian or German so hardly anybody could speak fluent English so small talk was out of the question. This meant I had time to get on with my job and not sit around talking about the meaningless things of life. I also had some downtime to myself, a time to reflect how I ended up as a Photographer in Ascot. I’m not entirely sure how, but I’m glad I was there, I’m happy that people who know of me [carefully avoiding the word "friends"] don’t actually give a shit about what I do – it means I don’t have to justify myself to them, it means when they do cast me out it won’t matter and when I die (soon) I will only be one of those people talk about in the “What ever happened to what’s his name…?” context. Amen!
