The “man/woman” thing.
Someone I know from church has issues with receiving help from men. Even though it seems she could do with help, she would rather struggle on and do it all by herself. I respect that, I have no issue with that. At first I disagreed, but lately I am wondering if there is a pattern appearing.
Lately, some female friends are making decisions that I strongly oppose to but I keep them to myself. The man/woman dynamic is different; it is always a sensitive subject when you tell a female friend that she should change her ways. I have no problem telling that to guys.
So, here’s the question. Can men and woman really be friends and have the same platonic relationship that two guys could have? I’m starting to doubt that. My friends are doing things that I find difficult to adapt to; perhaps it’s my age or my faith but something will have to be done about it soon, not for their sake, but for mine.
