Mortality imortalized.
May 8th
My good friend Dwiko has just posted some of his best work so far. I have always been a fan of people and the stories their faces tell but lately it is our surroundings that has taken my eye. In the quest of originality it can be difficult to find something that is personal, individual and unique. I truly believe Dwiko has found it with his amazing pictures of Highgate Cemetery. The “man/woman” thing.
Apr 24th
Someone I know from church has issues with receiving help from men. Even though it seems she could do with help, she would rather struggle on and do it all by herself. I respect that, I have no issue with that. At first I disagreed, but lately I am wondering if there is a pattern appearing.
Lately, some female friends are making decisions that I strongly oppose to but I keep them to myself. The man/woman dynamic is different; it is always a sensitive subject when you tell a female friend that she should change her ways. I have no problem telling that to guys.
So, here’s the question. Can men and woman really be friends and have the same platonic relationship that two guys could have? I’m starting to doubt that. My friends are doing things that I find difficult to adapt to; perhaps it’s my age or my faith but something will have to be done about it soon, not for their sake, but for mine.
Possibly the most colourful photos ever!

Married for five days before being overcome by Cancer
Apr 16th
I stumbled upon this article about a bride Katie Kirkpatrick (21) who endured cancer to get married to Nick Godwin. This made me think about mortality and the triumph over the inevitable. Even though Katie knew her time in this life was short she still would have to spend alot of time and energy preparing for a wedding. What I find even more sad is that it takes impending death to remind us what is important in this world before we meet our maker.

We all live in fear, we all struggle to fit in and yet we try so hard to be individuals. This dichotomy would seem bizarre to an Alien visitor. It is only our finite line that has the power to overcome all that. It puts us in our place.
Take a look at your life, are you the best that you can be? I live everyday with my metaphorical cancer, I struggle to be the best of me but I live in the knowledge I am doing something about it.
Inspiration from within.

Radio 1, cups of tea, MSN Messenger, Facebook and Lightroom. That’s my typical environment in my normal day. I don’t begrudge it, it’s fantastic not having to do the London commute it’s just sometimes it’s strange without any human interaction all day. Other than 3 phonecalls, I don’t think I’ve said a thing all day.
